With an average price increase of 30% over last year, the 2021 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales gave a strong boost to the National Reined Cow Horse industry.
Held at Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, the Sales concluded on Saturday, October 23 with Session II of the Select Yearling and Broodmare Sale, which saw an increase of 28% over last year, with an average of $26,263, and 90% completed sales. Friday’s sessions saw a 33% increase over 2020, with 93% completed sales, and an average of $23,279.
Yearlings held sway on Saturday with American Dollars topping the session at $80,000. Consigned by Pro Fit Equine, as Agent for Steve and Alicia Billman, the Reyzin The Cash stallion was purchased by Cooper Smith, Whitesboro, Tex. American Dollars’ dam, Tarizana, by Taris Catalyst, is an NRCHA money earner and producer of nine money earners; her dam, Sparkles Rosezana, by Zan Parr Bar, was an NRHA Open Futurity champion.
Shreyk, a yearling stallion sired by Dual Smart Rey, as well as Twist This Cat, a yearling filly by WR This Cat Is Smart, each sold for for $75,000, Saturday’s second highest price.
Consigned by Jeffrey and Jennifer Foland, and purchased by Gregory Williamson, Fort Worth, Tex., Shreyk is double registered AQHA/APHA, out of the Smooth As A Cat daughter Shes Twice As Smooth LTE $196,569, who is an NCHA Non-Pro Super Stakes co-champion and the dam of eight money earners.
Twist This Cat, consigned by Wagonhound Land & Livestock, LLC, and purchased by Tammy Hayes, Weatherford, Tex., is out of a One Time Pepto money earner, whose dam is NCHA Non-Pro champion competitor Twistful Thinking LTE $280,813.
Bet Hes Forever, a yearling Bet Hesa Cat son, at $70,000, commanded Saturday’s third highest price. Consigned by Teton Ridge Ranch and purchased by Sheri Jamieson, La Jolla, Calif., Bet Hes Forever is out of RCH champion Soula Jule Forever, a Top Ten All-Time Dam of RCH money-earners with $419,324.
