The yearling Dual Rey colt Reynowned, bred and consigned by Holmes Performance Horses/Linda Holmes, sold for $240,000 to 3T Ranch/Pat Taylor, Pilot Point, Tex.

With three record-breaking 2022 NCHA Futurity Sale days already in the books, Session I of the Preferred Breeders Sale, with an average of $39,310, continued the momentum on Thursday, December 8.

Session I’s high seller, at $240,000, was the yearling Dual Rey colt Reynowned, bred and consigned by Holmes Performance Horses/Linda Holmes, and purchased by 3T Ranch/Pat Taylor, Pilot Point, Tex.

Reynowned’s dam Stylish Play Lena LTE $289,524, ranks #3 among cutting’s All-Time Leading dams with 26 money earners of over $2 million. Her foals include six earners each of over $200,000, including Reynowned’s half-brother Hottish (LTE $301,843), a leading sire of cutting earners. Hottish’s son Dual Reyish, in turn, is the sire of Cuteish Desire, who commanded an all-time record price of $1,150,000 on the first day of the 2022 NCHA Futurity 2-Year-Old Sales, and of CR Catty Reys, The Evening Session’s sale topper at $985,000.

Sweety Rey, a red roan yearling filly, bred by Fults Ranch and consigned by James and Kandi LeClear/First Class Horses LLC, brought $120,000, the sale’s second-highest price, from Curtis Weeks, Cotulla, Tex. Sired by Stevie Rey Von, Sweety Rey is out of the Sweet Lil Pepto daughter Some Kinda Sweety (LTE $134,193), the dam of 13 earners $361,715.

Tickle My Freckles, bred by consignor Cows & Horses Etc., was purchased by Nate Ahlin, Payson, Utah for $110,000, Session I’s third-highest price. The Hottish-sired yearling filly is out of Docs Stylish Oak daughter Frecklesareinstyle LTE $191,846, a PCCHA 4-Year-old Open Stakes Champion and dam of 13 money earners of $525,101.

2022 Rocking P Ranch Annual Production Sale

Featuring an impressive group of yearlings, primarily offspring of leading sire Metallic Cat, the 2022 Rocking P Ranch Production Sale realized an average of $35,265 on 34 head sold.

The high seller, at $82,000, was Metallic Reyns, a red roan Metallic Cat daughter purchased by Anne Crawford, Weatherford, Tex. Metallic Reyns is out of the Dual Smart Rey daughter Carolena Reyn LTE $275,587, whose oldest foal is a 2-year-old. Second dam Carolena Moon LTE $81,347 is the producer of 21 money earners of $1,185,774, including A Smooth Criminal LTE $134,686 and Reylena Moon LTE $118,302.

Reyn Once, a red roan filly by Once In A Blu Boon, brought $67,000, the sale’s second-highest price, from Matt Miller, Poolville, Tex. Out of Dual Smart Rey daughter Carolena Reyn, Reyn Once is a half-sister to Rocking P Ranch Production Sale’s high seller Metallic Reyns.

Ty Smith was the winning bidder, at $62,000, for Metallic Mr P, a sorrel Metallic Cat son out of Dual Rey daughter Cinca De Maya LTE $107,750, dam of 10 earners of $653,230, including Cinca Im Hot LTE $265,969.
